Almost six years after meeting, and three and a half years after setting off on a perpetual world tour that took them to Europe four times, Ecuador 3 times, and many turns around the USA and Canada, Lisa Shawley and Michael Shay of the Just Desserts return to Austin for one final show before taking a hiatus from the road. We want to share our appreciation for our original community of Austin and share one last night of music before Lisa heads up to Oregon to live, and Michael heads south once again.
The concert will be in the lovely chapel of St. Michael’s church on 360 in Westlake, and will feature a retrospective of our repertoire which has seen us move from swing through tango, classical, Latin, Balkan, pan-European, Ecuadorian, Americana, and original music, and which led us to many collaborations with countless musicians, puppeteers, actors, dancers, choreographers, and others in several different countries. But Austin is where it started, and Austin is where we’ll leave it, for now! We hope that you will join us for this special evening of celebration and music and friends.
